Sheffield's best coffee shops & cafes

Let’s be honest, nothing beats a good brew. A cuppa at home is fine but Sheffield has some of the best independent coffee shops and cafes going, that smell of freshly roasted beans is glorious.

Whether it’s over a natter with pals or just some alone time, here’s our fave places to grab a coffee in Sheffield.

South Street Kitchen

South Street Kitchen is a destination cafe based at Park Hill. Since opening it has built up a reputation for supplying some of the finest coffee in the city.

Not only is the coffee good, the views, decor and vibe is too. It might seem out of the way but it really isn’t. just a couple of minutes walk from the train station and the tram stop. It’s also easily accessible from town if you want to stretch your legs, their Middle Eastern inspired plates are worth the effort.

Albies

Looking for a place that feels like home? You can’t go wrong with Albies. Run by a brother/sister combo, this Castlegate coffee shop sits on the outskirts of the city centre and offers the perfect place to have a time out or grab and go if you’re on your dinner break.

They take enormous pride in their coffee but their bagels are spot on too!

Workshop Koffee

Based in a repurposed shipping container on the edge of Kelham (SteelYard Kelham), Workshop Koffee might not sound like the ideal place for a caffeine fix but best friends Leanne and Lynsey have created a cosy atmosphere.

Brewing up all the coffee you need as well as a great menu suitable for breakfast, brunch and lunch 7 days a week.

Coffee at Mows

This city centre spot at Sellers Wheel might be small but it ticks all the boxes required when you need to take 5 and have to mull over things.

Coffee at Mows is a collaboration between Sam Gilmer and The Mowbray with a mix of speciality coffee and freshly baked sweet and savoury treats.

Join The Community and enjoy coffee & pastry for just £4.50 at Mows.

Steam Yard

Steam Yard has become a Sheffield institution for those who love coffee more than they love their own family.

Hidden just off Division Street this busy little spot is as tasty as it is Instagrammable and you’ll often find other Sheffield faves working with these guys (we’re talking Bullion, Birdhouse, Cuppers Choice etc…).
