John Peddler

Sheffield artist offers hope in new Artcade exhibition

2020 hasn’t been the year we hoped for, neither has this festive season. We should be spending time with friends and family whilst getting merry. Instead we’re stuck inside, the days are cold and the afternoons are dark. Thankfully Sheffield artist John Pedder is offering some light-hearted relief at his new exhibition, Small Mercies at Artcade.

The artist started Small Mercies a month before lockdown as a project to put a smile on his face. Each day he printed and carved a piece of joy into wood, he began to share these pieces online as the world changed, bringing joy to others too!

These non-connected piece of John’s life through 2020 will be on display from 10am to 4:30pm 7 days a week.

John plans to work on a huge 8ft x 4ft woodcut print inside the gallery space which will then lead into a live print for the public to view on the 19th of December.

He will also be working and printing in the space on the 10th, 11th, 12th, 16th, 17th and 18th.

Small Mercies is on until the 19th December.

Artcade is based at The Forum on Devonshire Street.
