National Videogame Museum

National Videogame Museum saved by the industry

Like many businesses, The National Videogame Museum in Castlegate, Sheffield faced an uncertain future as lockdown was put in place.

The unique museum which showcases how technology has changed in a short period of time is run by a charity. They feared that they didn’t have the resources to survive during these times, never mind reopen. Thanks to donations from Rockstar Games, Boneloaf, Jagex, Fusebox, THQ Nordic/Embracer Group, Ukie, Sumo, Craig Fletcher, Kelly Sumner and Thumbfood as well as the public, £130,000 has been raised.

This means that the museum is safe until at least July.
