Dryad Works is a DIY music venue based in Sheffield that needs your help.
It has been identified by the Music Venue Trust as one of the top 30 venues most at risk of closure, due to the pandemic.
Dryad Works was formed by a community of creatives, in the hills of Parkwood Springs. Their aim was to create a space for collaboration through music, art and culture. They succeeded in this by setting up 15 different creative workspaces within a warehouse, ranging from music studios to fully stacked sound systems.
Sadly Covid-19 has hit them hard financially, but here’s how you can help..
They’ve launched a Crowdfunder campaign titled #SaveOurVenues – Dryad Works.
This has reached 75% of its goal , with just over a week left to go! With your help they plan to not only endure but come back bigger and better by moving into the realms of film, photography and digital production.
Dryad Works explains: ”Together we’ve made a community, a base, a HQ, a place to be… a place to go! It’s yours and with your help it’s staying.”
All pledges have to be in by 31st January at 8pm, so if you can join the 196 supporters who have already donated, please do so here.
In the mean time they are hosting an array of Sheffield underground artists in the safety of their empty venue and streaming it directly into your homes!
Check them out at Dryad Live.
